'Coywolf'?

Ranchers, farmers and land managers need to constantly be thinking about depredation. Whether it's coyotes snatching up lambs, raccoons stealing chickens or skunks and opossums devastating wild turkey nests, predators can cause significant damage, loss of income and decrease in wildlife populations. There has been a lot of talk lately about a new species of canine predator on the North American landscape, a hybrid of wolf and coyote. PBS's Nature program even had a special about it not to long ago.

Here is an interesting article that sheds some light on exactly what is the 'coywolf':
